This month, the perfume industry marked one of its annual significant events, the Hong Kong Beauty Expo. GPB had the privilege of attending this exhibition as visitors, and I would like to share some insights with you after the visit.
Scale
Firstly, as a seasoned exporter specializing in perfume packaging for over a decade, GPB has previously participated in this exhibition as an exhibitor. Honestly speaking, compared to previous years, this year's event seemed relatively smaller. Some well-known perfume companies did not exhibit, and several renowned perfume packaging manufacturers from mainland China were also absent, leaving us somewhat disappointed.
Attendance
Compared to previous years, many buyers were also absent from this year's exhibition, possibly influenced by the global economic downturn. While the perfume industry may have experienced a slight contraction, it did not significantly impact overall attendance.
New Technologies and Products
We did not witness many new technologies or products showcased at the exhibition. GPB believes that many niche perfume brands worldwide primarily focus on perfume development and marketing, lacking sufficient resources to dedicate to packaging design and development. Consequently, numerous perfume brands are returning to simplicity, leading to a trend of minimalist packaging designs.
Future Outlook
GPB firmly believes in entrusting specialized tasks to professionals. For instance, the expertise of niche perfume brands lies in perfume formulation and targeted marketing strategies, while packaging design, development, and manufacturing should be delegated to specialized perfume packaging manufacturers or service providers
In conclusion, for a niche perfume brand, it is crucial to allocate limited resources effectively to perfume formulation and marketing.
